FUNDING FARMING AT THE KAYUNGA COMMUNITY PROJECT

Akasi Farm Initiative is a permanent agricultural social entity incorporated by the Government of Uganda under the Registrar of companies. This Initiative is dedicated to building resilient communities with their agribusinesses through providing affordable permaculture ecosystem designs, skills, livestock farming, accessible quality services with dynamic integration of sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Community Based Organisation (CBO)

AFI was founded in 2012 as a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with a main objective of economically empowering women through farming by generating and implementing permaculture ethics and principles to attain innovative climate change adaptation strategies.

MEETING THE OBJECTIVE

The farm was re-registered as a company limited by guarantee in 2019 due to the pandemic, allowing it to offer its services to as many people as possible. This was necessary due to the high demand for supportive services in the community and the form of registration made in 2012.

SECURING FUNDING

The Purpose of this plan is to secure funding for Akasi Farm Initiative’s core activities: seed to be supplied to farmers, live-stock for a start, capital, training room and materials, machinery. These mentioned Items are to be used consistently with our goals and objectives to sustainably achieve our main goal that involves keeping economically empower women, girls and the community as a whole.

MEETING THE OBJECTIVE

The project is to train and use modern farming methods, while meeting the sustainable Development goal 2 to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture. This project is to help approximately 200 families a year for five years in the kayunga community. The financials will show that this is a feasible plan that will reduce poverty and provide food security. This expansion is consistent with our goals and will provide an opportunity to the girl child of the community.
